History
The land that is now Ennisbrook was originally part of Rancho San Leandro, a Spanish land grant that was given to retired presidio soldier Nemecio Dominguez in 1845. Dominguez sold the property in 1868 to Edward Doty, who then sold it to Jarvis Swift, a hotel operator from Nevada. Swift renamed the property Ennisbrook and built a hotel on the site. The hotel was destroyed by fire in 1925, and the property was eventually subdivided into residential lots.
